Clinical Experience.

In 2000, I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. During my time in San Marcos while obtaining my degree I volunteered at the local Battered Womens Shelter. In December of 2004, I graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. As part of the degree program, I provided counseling to the terminally ill population and their loved ones thru Vitas Hospice. I was awarded Volunteer of the Year award in 2005. After receiving my intern license I began working on a government grant providing in-home counseling to the juvenile justice population and their families to cover a multitude of issues such as substance abuse, oppositional defiance, and family conflict. I also provided in-office counseling at Family Service Association to young children with a history of sexual abuse thru the Childsafe program. In the evenings, I facilitated group therapy for anger management and a support group for single mothers.

In 2007, I completed my 3000 hour internship and received my Licensed Professional Counselor license. In that same year, I completed additional coursework in order to attain supervisory status as a Licensed Professional Counselor allowing me to supervise Licensed Professional Counselor Interns. Through Zeitgeist Wellness Group, I began providing services to various populations that included individual, couples, families, military, and survivors of trauma. My experience working with issues such as depression and anxiety, adjustment disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder grew quickly and strongly. I also provided assessment, individual and family counseling, and crisis intervention to children in a residential setting for three years during this time. In 2012, I opened my own private practice and have been grateful for the opportunity to provide clients with assistance to create positive changes in their lives.

In light of the 2019 pandemic, I transitioned to offering my counseling services to a telehealth based format with HIPAA-compliant video and audio in order to reach the full breadth of Texas. In 2022, my practice was approved by the state of Florida to also provide tele-health services to their residents.
